Ecs bought Turner and Pelican a while ago. It’s a known fact that a lot of ecs brand parts are cheap Chinese knock offs. I have reason to believe that’s the case with these air boxes. All of these quality issues lead me to believe that these are the same air boxes that are being sold on eBay from China with a markup.

No he was saying the car put down 314 whp with only the airbox installed, I didn't see that part. The rest of the car including the exhaust was stock however.

314 whp with just an airbox but full exhaust with the airbox and pullies to 324 whp doesn't seem correct IMHO. But there could be other factors like temp and fuel variations.

What I will say is that the Turner box looks great for the money, sounds good and does make power. Just hope they offer different finishes later on for it.

On a GOOD day 85% of 333hp is 283. That's only 15%. I'm sure there's probably a little more loss but that's a perfect scenario. Here's reality... stock is going to be between 270 and 280. I think 314whp on stock set up is a bit optimistic but dynos vary like 3-5% on types. That's still around 20whp.

His base map literally runs better than the stock tune. My idle is perfect. No more hiccups with my lightweight flywheel either. It's still a better wonky sometimes, but it's vastly improved.

Yes. Will retune when I put on SS v1 sec1 and 2 in the spring. Would like to see what diff spending that much on exhaust will make before cams.

Have you experienced heatsoak with the turner airbox?

None yet, but I have not been able to get out on track since installing. The heat soak concern was why I didn't go supercharger, as it seems most FI guys in the SoCal region run into cooling concerns on track.

If you've seen a link to an airbox of this style on eBay, please drop a link, I'd scoop one up in a second. Screw turner lol

agreed, I haven't seen a chineese knockoff of these airboxes. This one looks similar, but it looks like most of their products are made to order.

I would be a bit hesitant to drop an eBay intake into my car. If that thing comes apart you could do some serious damage to the engine. We have all seen where some of the streamline boxes have come apart.

To be clear, I am in no way interested in running an eBay box, I'm just agreeing with Str8 that there doesnt' seem to be a knockoff version of Turners airbox on ebay similar to knockoff supersprint headers etc.

Yeah. That box looks similar, but clearly of inferior quality to the turner box and for essentially the same price. If it was more of a "AIG Racing/ Status Gruppe CSL Bumper" situation where theyre the same piece without the middle man, I'd probably pick one up.
