So apparently I didn't keep enough tension on the chain and it has shifted and my attempts to "fix" it have made it worse. The cams and crank are locked in there proper position and hubs/sprockets are marked. If I reassemble it and can get them to line up am I good to go or is the chains position just as critical. Thanks!

Either way looks like you will need the timing bridge tool to get it back into time.

As long as there is no chain slack on the right side (vu from front) and the crank and cams timing are good then it's OK regardless of chain link position.
