engine noise??

I was in the same situation last year, broken tab on the hub. I only had a marble noise around the 2700 rpm (+/- 200) range.

Does anyone have a clip (even just the sound) of this "marble noise" around this rpm range? I'm suspicious of a a rattle I seem to hear at around 2,500rpm when cold. Thanks.

I managed to take the valve cover off and I was checking the cam bolts and everything seems fine but I found another thing. Could this be the noise that I am having?

Of you're around Orlando I can help you out. Definitely don't drive the car unless it's an absolute emergency. It looks like the piece already fell into the oil pan to me.

I went with the TT hub as it wasn't yet offered through Beison. Here's my cost break down, I did the labor myself by printing the Beison procedure.

Not sure if this is the noise, it could be, but your hub broke a tab. Stop driving the car, time for a full vanos job. you’re one of the lucky ones that it got caught in the disk itself and didn’t fall into your engine.

Beisan now sells an upgraded hub, which is what you should replace your broken hub with, alongside all of the beisan seals, solenoid, upgraded pump disk, and cam bolts.

while you’re in there, you’ll have a good chance to inspect everything else, adjust the valves, etc.

It does sound like a pulley is bad but the real problem is that loud noise. It may be the bottom end regretfully. I compared your video to another rod knock video on our car. The frequency is the same. The camshafts rotate half the speed of the crank which is why I wanted verify. You need to check your oil. I would not run the car at all until this is fixed. Tow it if you aren't a DIYer.

I had five bolts on the intake can sprocket cut in half with the sixth one cut half way thru and it made very little noise,just a faint whirring sound when idling. It didn't sound like the OP's video at all. I agree he should pull the valve cover and check the cam bolts to be sure. The video sounds more like bearings in a pulley or something similar. I would definitely check it out.

I definitely hear it what you mean. I thought maybe the camera was picking up the exhaust but man that's not it. You need to pull that valve cover and take a look.
