Poll: Do people want the group buy threads moved out of the e46 main section?

Recently there's been a bunch of group buys. Which, I might add, I think is great-- a bunch of them are new products, and even people just getting stuff cheaper is great.

However, there's been enough that I'm wondering if it's overly cluttering up the main e46 discussion section and people would rather they were moved to the group buy section of the forum.

That said, moving them to the group buy section of the forum means less people will see them, making them less successful, meaning less group buys in the future (potentially meaning less new products for the platform) and less people getting to taking advantage of them.

    Input?

I voted yes! I think feelers should stay in main section, but when they convert, move them. GB threads can end up being 10 + pages and that has little purpose in main sections.

It would be easier to keep track of them and see/find new ones if they were in a dedicated section.

This exactly. The main section is great for finding out about new GB's but don't want them cluttering up the page long term.

I think leaving them in the main forum is good for answering questions and finding out more about the specific product/offer, as well as garnering opinions and perspectives from members.

How about moving them to a group buy section after the purchase period has ended (maybe 1-2 weeks after the close of the GB)?

What about making the ones that are currently in the "Buying" phase sticky'd to the top so they don't get buried. Once they are over they can go wherever.

Keeping them in the main section gets them more exposure, which should equate to more success. More success = more future GB's and better deals for everyone

I think the last 2 posters have it right. Exposure is good, but not clutter. Maybe there's a good point at which they can be moved?

Definitely need the exposure. I agree, just sticky them at the top of the page so it isn’t cluttered.

Ideally we could have a E46 group buys subforum. It seems 99% of the activity here is E46-related, so anything outside the E46 section is easily missed.

I don’t mind it in the main forum. We don’t have enough traffic to warranty a group buy subforum.

I honestly never even noticed we had a Group Buy section. More visibility is better.

No way. Nobody will see them if they're not in the main forum.

if you're trying to sell something on this forum, you should do it in the classifieds

don't remember who it was, but there was another guy on the older forum that spammed a lot of group buys and ultimately burned a lot of people by pretending to be "just one of the guys" on the general discussion forum.
