GC Coilover headaches & new coilover choice

    I would get Ohlins before JRZ for a car that won't see the track much if at all. I'd only get pss10 if the $500 difference we're a big deal to the buyer and they weren't taking it to the track at all.

        I hear ya buddy, budget is tight right now. PSS10 with some custom springs a year down the line I think i'll be happy. I used to go to the F1 track in Bahrain all the time but havent been in two years i think. Even then I dont push the car like crazy like i used to lol. Me and the wife just go and enjoy 1-2 sessions now with the M3. I should take my stage 2 X5M out there LOL.

          I would get PSS10 then, can't think of a better choice for under $2k besides what I've done (custom coilovers made out of bilsteins/eibachs - lots of effort). They'll be pretty comfy too which is nice as we get older hehe.

              I would say check out KW V2 or V3 if you don’t track her anymore .

                  What exactly did you have that was so comfortable even your wife liked it, and why not go back to that exactly?
                  I'm extremely surprised you have leaking Koni's unless their quality has fallen off a lot over the years.
                  I only have experience with Dinan springs over well used adjustable/matching Konis. If the adjustments were easier I think I could have gotten them dialed in better, but ran them for probably 5 years/30k miles and they appeared pretty beat up on the outside when I installed them. I now have MCS 2way with remotes. Pricey, a bitch to install if you don't get the quick disconnects, and a lot to keep track of setting wise, but very happy on track and used to them on street, but I only do group drives and track days.
                  I'm surprised with the pss10 recommendations; most Billys have too much gas pressure for my taste. If I go back to a mostly street setting, it will likely be KW v2 based on what I've read for years on M3F and other places.
                  Did you install something new? If so, how do you like them?

                    I’m done dealing with GC, they hardly even reply to me and when they do it’s like a month later and oh I’m sorry we’re busy try this and that…..

                    As far as I can see I was sold the wrong shocks and they have done nothing to rectify it.

                    I’d rather move on and just write this off as a loss and move to something more commercially available and more streamline. PSS10 are still my number one choice but so far they are unpredictable with production and still back ordered.

                      Why do you want coilovers?

                      It sounds like something along the lines of Eibach or Dinan springs combined with Bilstein B6 or Koni Yellow dampers would be more appropriate for you.

                      Also, what spring rates are you currently running?

                        GC was garbage for me recently too. They told me over the phone that their hybrid camber plates would work with my new Ohlins R&T. Plates showed up and were way too thick to bolt down without insane spring preload. Barry at 3DM was super helpful and spent 30 minutes on the phone with me confirming that the plates wouldn’t work. Communication from GC was terrible and slow throughout. Then when I sent the plates back they only refunded me 80%. I filed a PayPal claim and finally got the rest of my money back two months later.

                        FWIW I have been really enjoying the R&T with Turner Street camber plates. They ride far better than the KW V2 they replaced despite having significantly stiffer springs. My fiancée used to hate riding in my car and immediately noticed it’s much better over our shitty streets here even with the fixed back seats that went in at the same time. I run them at 10 clicks out of 20 front and rear while I get used to them. Two track days so far as well and the car feels wonderfully balanced.

                          So that I can dial in the ride height right as I am ocd about that and I have come from Eibach springs combo etc and coils are a completely different experience

                          Front GC150.64.77 = 6" Length / 2.5" ID / 440 lb/in
                          Rear GC165.64.96 = 6.5" Length / 2.5" ID / 550 lb/in

                              I love my tms street plates with my bilsteins! Bilsteins need reduced stack height if you want to go lower. Do you already have a bigger swaybar? Helps with the progressive springs.
