    ISO Clutch module.

I have a full dash light, no start issue.
Like trying the start the car w/o depressing the clutch pedal.
Apparently the part is not available from the usual vendors, and it is claimed that the part has been pulled by BMW.
This seems to be far from a rare issue, so I'm confused about the reticence of the factory.
    Anyone know where I can obtain the part? 61 31 9 122 700
There's an alternate, but it bounces the engine off the limiter if the clutch is depressed while cruise is engaged.

Why people don't bypass this switch? This annoying device can leave you stranded in nowhere.

Yeppers. Ths part # is readily available but I was informed by one of the vendors that if you use it, the engine bumps off the rev limiter when you push in the clutch with the cruise control engaged.
Most of the time, I do use the switch, but when a tasty corner like an on-ramp comes up.....
Do yu happen to be using this part #?

Got it, I didn't realize that was what you meant by alternate. Tragically my car is SMG so I have no experience with this switch.

So BMW unforunately discontinued the proper switch. You have a few options:
            1) Get the Euro switch (61 31 9 122 701) and code out the start lock function
            2) Retrofit the 2001 style switches (2 x 61318363710); one would function as the start lock, the other would function as the cruise switch. Alternatively only retrofit the cruise switch and code out the interlock
            3) Do a hybrid with the Euro switch for cruise and the 2001 style switch for the start lock

              Cheers Gents.
It's odd that they would d/c an electrical part that lives in a damp environment.
