If their labor rate is anything like Seattle shops, 4-5 hours of labor for alignment + proper corner balance seems reasonable to me. Here the cheapest race shops I'd take my cars to are around $150-160/hr.

Did you just have underside plates installed? Any top reinforcement?
Just plates, no top reinforcement. I didn't think it was necessary considering the car isn't driven super hard and my subframe mounts were 100% free of cracks after the subframe was dropped.

Shop space is super expensive in NOVA compared to other areas, and I guess this cost is passed along to the consumer.

An experience tech should not be taking nearly that long.

90 minutes tops. Includes the 10 minutes it takes me climbing into the seat while on the alignment rack to do the corner balance.

Tommy Ivic, Tier One Auto. Dont have much of a web presence though. Knows these cars very well.

Avoid Induktion Motorsports if they are still around. They almost ruined my diff and would not own up to it.

I won't pretend to know what is right amount of time and what isn't. I know the tech spent approx 3 hours on the car while I waited. Do I wish they could do it more efficiently so that it were cheaper? Of course. I don't get the sense this shop does things inefficiently, and certainly not half-assed so I pay what they charge.

For Baltimore area members: Kassel/Coyne @ York, PA would be a good fit for subframe reinforcement.

Had Matt @ Coyne do the CMP top side reinforcement a couple years back. Its very cleanly done & was priced fairly.

Matt did my SF reinforcement yrs ago, and can vouch for him as well...if you're close to him!

Asked RRT if they had experience with a Vincebar and Redish plates and they told me they have not installed either. Said they only do Turner underside plates.

Reaching out to Tier One Auto and Matt Coyne.

Matt did a custom top reinforcement on my car. I like it better than the Vince Bar, if you use the OE carpet cover, everything looks OE.
                          Just some old shitty cars.

Could have fooled me. I live in the Baltimore area and rarely ever see 46 M's. I do see a lot of F8x cars though.

For the OP, when I get my subframe reinforced I'll probably go with Tier Car Care in Baltimore County. They did my PPI and I really like their team & their owner. I think they're super busy right now with racing season though.
