    Car Seats in the Back

Hey everyone. I just purchased my second M3 (alpine/cinnamon) after 6 years from selling my first. I also just had a baby boy. I was actually looking for an e90 m3, so I could have 4 doors and take my son around on short trips. This car popped up which was my dream spec e46 so I pounced on it. I had to sell my track prepped e30 for it.

I was curious if anyone currently uses a car seat to take their baby around? I use the Graco Click Connect in the other cars so it'd be easy to utilize that.

Congrats on the baby and the car. I've used the Chicco fit2, and now on Gracco Extend2Fit. I just use the middle seat lap belt, didn't get into the anchors because the car seat has to be certain dimensions to safely secure them there.

All jobs done as diy - clutch, rod bearings, rear subframe rebush, vanos, headers, cooling, suspension, etc.

PM for help in NorCal. Have a lot of specialty tools - vanos, pilot bearing puller, bushing press kit, valve adjustment, fcab, wheel bearing, engine support bar, etc.

I didn't think to use the middle seat. When he gets a bit bigger, I'll mess around with it.

Yeah, putting a car seat on a side is more convenient, but from safety, being further away from the sides/glass/etc... so we use the middle in all cars. We only have 1, so it works, obviously if you get 2, that's a different ballgame.

I have a forward facing car seat for my two year old and a booster with back for my 5 year old in my vert... it’s a tight fit for me up front!

Don't forget to tie the security strap back into the fitting provided on the back deck.

Congratulations on the baby! I have a three year old and we have used a Britax Boulevard and Evenflo Stratos, which both fit fine. I did have to use either a cut down pool noodle or a folded up towel to get the car seats level. The Britax is a nicer car seat to strap in an out of, but both have worked for us. I would recommend going to a Buy Buy Baby (or somewhere else that sells car seats) an trying out car seats in your M before you buy. Most car seats are super adjustable, but some are pretty wide and don't fit will in the back of our cars. Good luck!
