    Best Ceramic Brakes...

Hi Fellas - I was wondering if anyone had experience on ceramic brakes for the stock ZCP brake? Is there anything out there that is comparable to the stock pad? (I know I'm asking much!) - Are there any variations between ceramic pads (some that stop better than others?)?

    Best,

Don't know if they make them for the ZCP, but for the street ,Hawk ceramics on e39 530, and e46M3, I am quite happy with them.

I am using Akebono . A lot less dust, but little bit less brake bite than oem pads. I won't go back to oem.

ceramic pads are garbage, if your priority is no dust you've not understood the concept of what brakes are supposed to do

Only because of the dust, i daily drive my car and my commute is a lot, i dont track the car and very few spirited runs. Its gotten to the point that im willing to give ceramic pads a try.

Thanks for your input - From what ive read zcp should be the same pad as non zcp - Im willing to give the hawk ceramic pads a try

You mean turn kinetic energy into heat?

He understands the ceramic trade-off just fine and caveated it in the first post if you had read it.

                    Follow installation instructions, AND
bedding in process. Based on your initial post of where and how you drive I think you will be pleased.

My car stays spotless thanks to my akebono brake pads. I lost some of the oem bite in exchange. I drive like a grandma these days anyway.

For the same reason I bought Akebono. They are good enough for daily driving. I guess I will have the same braking distance as oem car with oem brakes because zcp rotors, coilovers and Michelin pilots 4s should compensate difference of softer pads.

Slight clarification, correct it is the same pad size between base and ZCP, but the ZCP front pads themselves are a slightly different compound composition.
