Any idea why this is happening? This is a brand new unit. Wires were not unplugged.

Sorry, not reset, RESTART. Yes I have constant power. When I remove the key, the unit stays on for quite a bit. I have it set to power down only after 60 minutes.Originally posted by Rkymtnrider View PostDo you have a constant power source? Generally a reset should erase all memory back to factory settings.

So if you don't drive the car for a few weeks, won't it drain the battery if the AVIN never turns off and only goes to sleep mode? I had some older models that never did that. Doesn't seem right. Power was never lost so the presets should be saved.Originally posted by yhp2009 View PostI think thats by design. I solved it by setting it to go to sleep mode when the car ignition is turned off

Yea, but then I always disconnect the battery when i dont plan on driving my car. But either way thats a crappy part of having the AVIN. If someone can claim a true solution to this I'd love to hear itOriginally posted by I M Legend View Post

Just to add another reference on how to fix this, because it was a top google result.. I've just installed an Avant4 in my E39 and had the same issue, then fixed with the steps below. These are from the AvinUSA support portal.
If your head unit radio app keeps losing/forgetting the station preset setting you must change "Default power status" setting to "Memory the status of last" in the factory menu.
To do this:- Open Android setup
- Car Settings > Factory settings
- Password: 126
- Switch to the tab "Others"
- Find item "Default power status"
- Change the setting from "On" to "Memory the status of last"
