ID:	98931Hi does any one have a detailed write up for mounting and securing a front bumper for the 2002 year model?

My car has been in a accident and i took the bumper off only to find it was very much ghetto rigged with hot glue.

Any links or videos would be helpful!

You should have known based on that bumper fitment. Looks like it’s barely hanging on for it’s life.

not sure what you’re missing but be prepared to spend up $200 - $350

take off the bumper and inspect the foam piece behind it. its held in by a few flimsy tabs that easily rip. its a crappy stupid design

Just replace it all. From someone who has spent a lot of time repairing a front bumper and kevlar carrier in an attempt to not replace it, i was successful, but the money spent was lost in the time it took. To replace completely, was probably a 3-4 hour job, not including painting time. That includes jacking the car up, pulling the fender liners, etc. plus, as stated above, the foam is a stupid design, the plastic ends are almost certainly cracked and probably separating from the corners. Its a mess that isnt really worth fixing vs replacing

I thought about replacing mine a while back as well but chances are you'll rip through all those tabs the next time you have to take off the bumper for whatever reason... and then there goes 1 grand.

I ended up epoxying the foam piece to my bumper with and let it cure with trigger clamps. You have to make sure you're aligning the foam piece correctly with the bumper. you get one shot at it but if successful then its a durable fix.
