I had the oil level and temp sender go bad on my 2002 last year. I ordered a new one from ECS Tuning and swapped it out during my regular oil change. That sensor appeared to be DOA. To ECS credit they sent me a new one and allowed me to keep the old one (I wasn't too excited to have to dump the oil again so I deferred replacement #2 until my next oil change.)
The replacement sensor worked great. For 4000 miles. Now it's failing again.
Is this a part known to go bad or have bad after-market replacements on the market? Or do I just have dumb luck?
