BMW straight sixes like to drone in the 2-3k RPM range under load. If you want more volume, you have to do something with the muffler, whether debaffling/removing the packing material or going aftermarket. Everything other than stock drones to some extent (larger muffler with more packing material = less drone, smaller muffler with less packing material = more drone). Modifying the factory muffler would cost an exhaust shop maybe an hour or two of labor - under $200 guesstimate.

If you don't want drone, I'd leave the exhaust stock. For more engine induction noise (the good noise with no drone), I'd find a used DINAN intake - https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-5...intake-system/

I did make a DIY intake on a day I was bored, I’ll link a picture of it

I'm with Slideways I'd be real reluctant to get to carried away with the exhaust and creature comforts considering that. No better way to make your car not fun to drive than to make it annoying when all you want to do is drive to work. You are 17 and probably will do it anyways, because that's what I did too and had to learn the hard way, haha.

I want to make it sound not annoying for that reason lol, like i said it was straight piped by prev owner and I hated it so I put the m3 muffler on, I don’t want volume i want a good noise in the high rpm, but also I know camber plates and brake pads are more important, I’ve been looking at Dinan and Ireland Engineering fixed plates
