Fantastic PDR work! And the brakes look perfect, exactly what I'd do to OE calipers (if not black). When we were talking about quarantine work, you weren't messin around

Yea the calipers made a nice difference. All the little details add up.
Lol, yea I first did some small work on my M3. Got bored and everything else i wanted to do was pretty expensive. So I built a tree house with the wife. Mind you we never built shit before.
After that I did not want to waste time so got the E39 as a new project. Now its cold and gets dark at 5pm. So back to being a lazy bum 😂.

Update: 10/5/20
While waiting on suspension parts I did my timing chain tensioner.
If you have a M62 engine I highly urge you to do this asap if you haven't done so. On the M62 the killer flaw is the timing chain guides breaking. By replacing the timing chain tensioner it keeps the tension on the chain tight and prolongs the life of the guides. That along with frequent oil changes with quality oil.
On cold starts in the morning I would hear the timing chain rattle real bad from the chain slapping against the guides. Now I get the rattle sometimes on cold starts, which is vanos related.
The job was fast and easy too, easier than I expected.

Update: 10/12/20
Eibach lowering springs
CA Tuned adjustable sway bar endlinks
Tie rod ends
Sway bar bushings
Cleaned fender liners
Brake kleened everything
I'm not going to even lie, this was no fun. This car fought me so much. E46 is so much easier than e39. Coilovers in general are easier than spring replacement. Regardless shit was just not going my way.
I still need to put the interior back together and try to fix the alignment. If not I'm taking it to a pro for alignment.

Update: 10/15/20
Rear fenders rolled.
It doesn't rub!! The job was successful. Aside from extreme compression where the rear wheels go far up in the arches, the rubbing is gone. That's expected, my e46 does that too.
Thanks Stu for the roller.
The pain in the ass spring install was worth it.
Car looks better
Handles better
Drives straight
Doesn't rub
I'm happy, on to the next maintenance/mod.

Update: 10/23/20
Been taking it easy lately just driving it. I do have something on the way.
In the meantime I saw a video that reminded me I have Solution Finish. So I restored all my exterior trim. This is not like back to black which lasts temporarily. This isn't permanent but much better than anything I've used. I wiped everything down with IPA prior to applying.

Took some fall pictures.
I only had it a few months but love the transformation so far.

Update 11/20/20:
Took her to GT Peace Automotive for mount, balance, and 4 wheel alignment. She drives so much better now. Went with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S this time.
Took her to a muffler shop for muffler install and resonator delete. She sounds like a proper V8 now. Was too quiet before.
This is a totally different car then when I bought her about 3 months ago. I am really enjoying her. Looking forward to the next modification/maintenance/repair.

Update 11/29/20:
Car came with chrome grills that were a little loose. I bought some gloss black ones thinking I would like it. I did not. Ended up hacking them both up and combining them.
Had issues with the hood latch but after a little trimming all is well.

Update 2/11/21:
Had a misfire. Scan tool said cylinder 5 and possibly 7. Changed the plugs first thinking maybe I didn't use the right ones. Didn't fix it so then bought coil packs for only cylinder 5 and 7 to make sure. Issue fixed. Will change remaining coil packs in the near future.
