I've never been interested in this part of the code but I think it wouldn't be very complicated to make such a modification.

Not saying my wife redlines my car when it’s cold, but she definitely doesn’t allow my glow plugs to warm up on my diesel before starting and I’ve been telling her that for over 10 years haha. It would be a nice security to have, not just for my wife but for anyone. Would be interested in learning more on how to perform this function.

Are you talking about the lights or do you want the car to physically limit its redline until it's warmed up?

The best modification could be that the physical redline follows the lights. I think it will be an interesting modification.

You could use this with a fixed redline at 4k for when your wife is driving: http://www.msstuning.com/mssmapper.php

Even if it warms up she would still be stuck at 4k. You would just need to switch tunes before getting out of the car each time.

I personally haven’t flashed my own. Kassel flashed it with CSL a few months ago and then Hassan/HTE flashed it 2 weeks ago.

Honestly, either would work. If modding just the lights to represent the redline, I would be happy enough with that.

My idea would was that all of the lights stay on @ 4k 100% of the time until about 80c is reached, in which they all turn off up to 8k from there.

To be honest, on cold start when the lights are sitting at 4k I don’t even know if that is a real limited redline or not. I usually don’t go over 3k until she’s warm.

Adjusting the lights is trivial. Physically limiting the redline is harder, though not impossible

Try to put the threshold of each light at 80°C, it could work.
