Pic below shows pin8 is connected to something; can someone verify it's to gnd or 5v? Just check p8 connected to p1 or p10, if not then I assume it's connected to 5v as I don't think p8 is connected to the MCU I/O pin for more complex control of the function of the D1 and D2 pins.

we have 2 choices: either MC33886 or MC33887, depending on how the original chip pin8 COD was used on the board -- connected to gnd or Vcc.

It seems the Bosch chip recommended in post #8 has been discontinued.
I will take a look at the supplier sites such as Infineon, STMiro, Ti, Analog Devices.

Hello,
Has anyone managed to resolve the sync issue with EWS after Full bin flashing?
It seems like there are no issues with re-syncing EWS after flashing full bin with BDM,
but since I don't have BDM, I used 'MSSFlasher' for flashing.
I used an extra DME (MSS54HP) instead of the original DME.
However, when I pressed the virginize button,
the ISN information area did not reset, and instead, a timeout occurred.
If anyone who has flashed CSL bin using 'MSSFlasher' has successfully re-synced EWS,
I would appreciate hearing your advice.
How can I make the DME (MSS54HP) virgin?
The Virginize function of 'MSSFlasher' seems to erase VIN information,
but it appears that the ISN information area does not reset.
Is it supposed to reset entirely?
Please help me ;(Last edited by HoDoo; 03-26-2024, 09:05 PM.

I used my Autel diagnostic tool "Live data" to get the reading

Just read the pressure via Tool32 to see if the value is valid related to your location.

How do i know if the onboard pressure sensor is changed? And what would happen if i change the Pressure scale like you mention below? Is there any risk the DME dies?
"Also the onboard pressure sensor is different. You can either install one with the same specs as the MSS54HPs (MPXA6115A or MPXAZ6115A), or you can change the pressure scale (at 0xC476, change "D3 1C 12" to "C2 5F 03"). "

Might as well post this
Red resistors are the ones you definitely have to change if you want to use the MAP sensor. 7.15 kΩ resistors seem to do the trick there. The yellow ones are also different (10 kΩ on the MSS54HP, 1 kΩ on the non-HP), but they don't appear to effect anything.

One thing I want to make clear is that this is still fairly experimental. You're modifying the DME in ways BMW never intended. While I've done a fair bit of testing, it's impossible for me to test all scenarios.
