MSS5X software differences

Hi everyone, new to this platform and wanted to know: Do all the MSS5X software from ECUworx, Bimmer Tuning Tools, and MSSFlasher serve the same purpose? Which one does everyone prefer and why? I'm looking to read and save my current bin file, then write in a manual bin file along with changing the vin on the DME. Thanks in advance for your responses.

Bmwflash (free) or Mssflasher (paid) for reading or writing over Obd.

The Ecuworx tool is a friendly interface for common modifications for these cars, but doesn’t do any reading or writing to the DME.
