    Aftermarket seats. Airbag delete

Installing Recaro Sportster CS spring 26. I have a dedicated laptop with INPA software. Is there a guide available to assist me in how to code our the driver seat airbag? Won't be able to tolerate dash error light for long. I've also ordered the passenger seat occupancy dongle. Anything else I'm missing?

I think you need NCS expert or equivalent to code this out.

From memory, in the airbag module there is a seat occupancy 1 & 2 that you should set to nicht aktiv. I tried only setting the no2 to not active but got a fault through NCS, seems like it wouldn't accept only no2 not active, but it was a success when I set both to not active.

BTW I also fitted a 2nd hand occupancy mat to the cushion and connected this to the car properly but IDK if mine was not working as I got a fault code for the sensor, but I didn't bother digging deeper and just coded it out.

    Regards

Thanks. Does the driver seat also need an occupancy bypass dongle or just the passenger side? I don't want to go without driver and passenger front airbag protection. I know the passenger will deploy all the time with occupancy bypass dongle installed.

Drivers seat doesn't need anything AFAIK. I have no idea why the airbag module has 2 lines for seat occupancy though but as I mentioned NCS expert refused to set only one of them to inactive. Nobody plans a crash but I agree it's sure nice to have the bags should the event occur. I hope mine deploy but I don't see why they shouldn't, it's just the seat sensor that is disabled, not the airbags themselves.
