Need help starting with NCS Expert - manipulation profile

Finally got the gumption up to try coding. Downloaded all the standard tools, and was successfully able to connect to my car and read codes through INPA. However, before using NCS expert, I need a manipulation profile. Or should I say, I think I need one. Look at the picture below, these are the profiles I currently have. I’ve read many threads about revtor’s profile, but I can’t seem to find it. I’ve read through “Getting started with NCS Expert” but was not able to find it. Am I correct in in thinking I need this?

Also another question - one of my fears is messing something up and not being able to go backwards. Is the below the right way to think about protecting my existing file,

I very much want to do this but don't have the balls to write any changes. I copy/pasted my FSW_PSW.TRC file to another location on the computer in hopes I can somehow load that if I "mess something up".

Fired up the ol' google search - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0en9CYA4L8

Expert mode would probably get the job done as well.

This might sound like gibberish as first, but to restore default settings back to any module you code, you just have to write a blank .man file back to the module. You only have to save the .trc file if you have custom coding already done. I remember a lot of people used to say that you can't really mess up anything cause it is easy enough to write the defaults back to the module.

Suggest watching a few YT videos first.

Thank you … yes I watched a bunch of videos, but somehow I missed that one (50s Kid is particularly good). Got it now.

to my question about saving the current profile, my car is a SMG swap, so I believe there is custom programming. The previous owner did this so I’m not familiar.

Ok another question while I’ve got an open thread, I followed the directions to use NCS dummy and was trying to code the GM5 module I believe. It gives you a couple of selections between GM5 C01 to 05. As the video explains, the one that has the check boxes is the one that you’re looking for. The only one that had check boxes is the one in the picture below. The only problem is NCS dummy is not translating the German to English. Has anyone seen this before? I guess it’s not the end of the world, I can use Google translate to translate for me. But I thought this was the main function of NCS dummy in terms of translating. Also want to know if this is an indication that the software is not working correctly.
