Rev Limiter Cut time

Is there a way to decrease the cut time for the rev limiter? That is, make the rev limiter pulse faster? And are there any potential downsides to doing so?

The only potential downside I would see is that if the fuel cut duration is not long enough for the cylinder to push excess diluted fuel mixture out, you may run into a lean/detonation condition, or perhaps a rich unburned condition outside of the combustion chamber that could harm the cats and O2 sensor.


Not an expert by any means but I have dabbled in the Megasquirt realm for a number of years and so this sort of topic is interesting to me.
