Michelin Track connect app and Pilot Cup 2 Connect (240)

    https://www.michelinman.com/auto/why...s/trackconnect

Just ordered a set of these because I'm a stupidly huge fanboy of Michelin.

Anyone have any experience with this? Basically there's a sensor that goes in your tires (that measures tire temps and pressures), and a telemetry box in the car, which talks to an app on your phone (or head unit, in my case, since my head unit is an android).

In the app, you select the track from a database and enter the current weather conditions (dry/wet), as well as entering your car info (tire sizes, tire model, etc).

Once that is set up, the app monitors the tires and suggests pressure changes between each session to get to optimal (e.g. it'll say let 4 psi out of the front left, add 2 to the rear right, etc). While running, it can also monitor temperatures, with a graph (BLUE to green to red, per corner), so you can know if you're over driving or under driving your tires. Additionally it sounds an alarm in a zero pressure situation, and tracks lap times.

Anyone playing with this yet? I'm pretty excited about it, as someone who has loved every Michelin experience he's had. I look forward to only having to use the tire temp sensor probe thing to set camber, and perhaps this will even be more accurate (since tires cool down pretty quickly)!

And running the Track Connect app on the Avin just feels perfect
(pictured running wireless carplay, but gets the idea accross :P)

It sounds very interesting. I read about them when they launched with the M2 CS.

It is very interesting to have per tire recommendations. If only they were more reasonably priced for track use

Installed the track connect stuff. First use in 2 weeks.

        Sensors installed:

A perk of having the Qi charger center section:

Is that there's sufficient space under it to install the telemetry unit:

And, app running on the Avin (not paired up yet):

Did an event with these 2 weeks ago. They were everything they promised to be-- 100% lived up to my hopes/expectations.

The tires themselves are also far and away the quietest R comp I've driven on. If you don't drive in cold/wet, you could 100% DD on these outside of cost (at least this far into their life-- could absolutely get louder with age/use).

Annoyingly, the head unit would not pair with the Michelin telemetry box, so I had to run the actual app on my phone. Pretty sure that's the fault of the Chineseium head unit, not the Track Connect system, as it paired up with my phone right away.

10/10, would recommend. Looks like they've also come out with 255 17s since I bought them, so people on 17s can now play, too.
