Hot lap from last weekend at Summit Point with CCA. There is alot more pace in the car but I'm overall happy with beating my previous personal best:

This past weekend my car was set up exactly how I like it, when the rear tires started to fall off it became a bit of a handful. Sharp turn in and easy rear rotation is what I prefer though.

Unfortunately I deleted the PBs from the morning because I am an idiot. However a friend was able to film the car from exterior with a close friend following, cool to see what it looks like on outside for inside.

    Just having fun:

I get what you're saying about softer on bumpy...... Those tracks aren't worth going to anymore. There are too many good options out there. For me that would be Hallett, super fun track when I had my ZHP but the last time I was there I swore it off until it got repaved. Which I hear actually happened this past winter.

No, no BMWCCA there, we run KCPCA there and they're very hands off, good chapter. I know it's a haul but I guarantee it will be worth it. It's in my top 5

    The ring
    Cota
    Watkins glen
    MSR 3.1
    Ozarks

Maybe you need stiffer front springs? Hank at bimmerworld corrected me when I thought lower springrate = more grip. He said it was actually the opposite, as the higher spring rate drives the tire down into the asphault. Even without a front bar I'm still 3 wheeling coming out of corners and Hank is telling me it's due to suspension geometry. The only way to eliminate it is with spring rates I wouldn't want.

On a different note, if you have the chance to get to Ozarks you really need to go, it's AMAZING! I'll be going for the 3rd time in a year the end of this month with KCPCA because it's that good.
it depends. I think there’s a target freq rate depending on surface and aero load. I’d argue I have a lot more grip running softer springs on bumpy tracks.

I can add some splitter tunnels which I think will rebalance the car to be more on the front axle.

I’d like to get there but its a haul. Does BMWCCA run there? I tend to avoid PCA. Some chapters are a pain in the ass.

Right now, it is a little bit too biased to the rear. I can drive around it, just need to trail brake deeper to the apex. I would love to get a little more front bias on the downforce.

I like the front end to be a little sharper which is why I don't think I'll like no front bar.

I've gotta be honest I'm really happy with how the car could be manipulated at NCM. I think it's a great track to be able to learn your car at. It's got a bit of everything but most importantly it's got corners you load your car up and keep it there for almost 5 seconds. Not many tracks offer the ability to slowly increase speed Ina corner to be able to test the limit

Car is very close to my liking now as I can manipulate what I'd like to do after apex, splitter addition and removable of the front swaybar have done wonders! Car when loaded up out of a corner is 3 wheeling so I'm going up in spring rate from the current 750/900. Now I just need a new diff!

    Finally went to COTA!

Alright so here is my unofficial best lap at COTA, 2:34.79 according to the AIM. I won’t count it as official since I added the start/finish line in the wrong place. I was just fumbling with the timer on track to get it to work since COTA wasn’t in the datebase for my Aim Solo. That's where it ended up. I’ll need to update it.

As you’ll hear and see red mist into turn 20 was real. However it’s still a low 2:35 if you hand time time it from the start/finish which was my goal for the weekend.

Ambient was 45 degree, was perfect. Next time hopefully I'll be on better shocks and RE71RS, and overdrive less lol

Still giving up a bit in gut check. I can't believe how committed I was out of 17, definitely a low 46 possible.. The PFC 83s in the front were a huge confidence boost compared to the PFC 08s. Sucks I probably won't be able to find another NOS set but they seem to be wearing like Iron.

If anyone is curious what is done. 3400lb E46 M3, headers, Bimmerworld exhaust, stock tune, bucket seat, CF trunk lid, old GC coilovers, hotchkis front bar, ZCP front brakes, PFC 83 front pads and PFC 08 rears. 265 Direzza Z3s. Stock toe, pretty aggressive camber settings.

Nice! That's quick for no aero!

Try turning in a little earlier for gut check. Get the right tires right next to the curbing it and will stabilize the car vs waiting later and then fighting the off cambered surface on the outside with a tighter radius. It also lengthens the available amount of time to brake in a straight line into sugar and spice which allow you to stay on throttle longer.

Then brake down the middle of the track into sugar and spice. Its weird but I've found that there's a lot more grip there than the outside. If you're trail braking you really don't need to go to the outside of the track.

Your contributions to the discussion with the advanced group was super informative and much appreciated. Thanks for sharing some of your speed secrets with me and doing a bit of lead follow in the beginning to guide me through this track that I've never been to before. Here's a video of my 2:01 lap AND getting a point from you at the end. A pass is a pass. haha. I had a great time running with you as always. Can't wait for the next!

Trackjunky can post his videos too. Once again Henry it was amazing running with you and your chapter. It was also a lot of fun helping you with the advanced classroom, I hope I helped.
