    Like the title states, looking to purchase and OEM front wheel bearing tool, part number 83-30-0-491-905. Let me know if you have one collecting dust...

        You definitely don't need any special tools. Just a big socket, forgot the spec. Takes a 1/2" drive because it's like 100 ft/lbs or more can't remember.

        Front bearings are easy, rears are hard. Front is an entire assembly from FAG.

            I've seen all the DIY videos that show this method. There is just something unsettling about hammering on a socket to press the wheel assembly. Especially since these are going on a new set of CSL king pins. I'd rather not risk damaging it.

              Hammering? It fit right in.

              Maybe some sockets are too thick? Need to find one that fits or turn it down (grind) to fit.

              The socket is only to loosen the nut, no pressing. Like I said, it's an entire unit. The rears are the PITA.

                He's not talking about tightening that big nut (which actually has a torque spec more like 300 lb-ft). He wants the tool that actually gets the bearing fully seated into the spindle.

                I actually do have the tool and it does make the job considerably easier. Not for sale though.

                      Sure, but the risk of damaging the bearing is higher. Outer race in particular. The tool eliminates that possibility
