Ring BMW Uk then is what I meant (I presume they look after NI?)

Tell them at customer service (find the right guy to speak to- not Mondial initially) that you are aware of the lower limit for wear and you are above it and you are aware of an issue with SMG were Adaption to clutch wear is not perfect and can cause slip before the clutch is finished and you want BMW to pay but dealer not helping.

I'm pretty sure they will offer you goodwill if no warranty which will lessen the bill

Bad luck mate:banghead:.Have you tried phoning the warranty and telling them you know its a common fault with CSLs and that your clutch plate is not below the limit.

Like I said my clutch isn't worn, it measures 1.2mm.

Tell the dealer that they have not proved that the clutch is worn. It is still above the recommended replacement thickness and you want confirmation from BMW Uk or Eire.

Tell them that the failure of the clutch obviously can't be due to thickness as it is above recommended and therefore other SmG items must be prematurely causing clutch slip.

BmWuK typically tell dealers to try SMg reprogramming/teaching before clutch replacement so my guess is they haven't contacted BMw at all or they wounldnt have taken the clutch out first. They re probably therefore reluctant to contact them now and admit their mistake or they will get the costs coming back from BMW

If yo can get BMW involved you'll be ok but that may be very hard.
