Thanks a million, that is a huge help.

Do use your adjustment much or did you just set it up once and left it there?

when we used to go on drives a long time ago.. i used to blind people im following alot because of my hids.. now i just lower the beam. and when i have a alot of stuff in the trunk or car is full i lower the headlights to keep it from blinding the other drivers. other then that its perty much set at highest. i used it at least once a week. just because i want to i guess.

You, sir, are amazing. What a fantastic post (and future resource)!

I take it anyone already in possession of the aiming motors is in for a much cheaper install since we just need the wiring harness and switch?

Would you mind hooking us up with the same thing for the powered rear vent window retrofit kit if you still have the instructions that came with it? :nixweiss:

looks like you only need the wiring harness and the controller.. be very careful for the controller though. i've seen two different ones... even the plug in the back was diff. when i get some time i'll go pull mine out for the correct part number. motors i think go for $75 a pair from german wreckers. used of course. motors are just one of those things that are nice to have.. can you live without em.. yeah probably.. but you also can live without e36 Ms and we choose not to!

Ok got a switch from the UK, now just got to figure out the pinouts. (don't want to pay for the harness) Any help would be appreciated.

There are 4 pins on the switch, and 3 on each motor. If anyone knows or has a euro schematic from a repair manual that would be great.

So what's the total cost, approximately, for the OEM Bosch headlights (w/ HID) complete with the electrical adjustment option?

No HID's but the headlight adj switch was 10 GBP and the Bosch lights shipped were around 90 Euros and the angel eyes were $45 USD shipped. All that remains is to make up my own harness for the headlights and the adjustment motors. I have found the right size female pins and maybe the right canon connector for the headlights. So in total about $210 CDN.
