Are you replacing the actual FCAs themselves or just the bushings? I think I'll be doing this soon myself, but I'll be replacing my tie-rods too while I'm at it. Anybody have suggestions on what else to replace in there? If the LBJ gets destroyed, what other bushings/parts should you replace once you've got that area of the car dismantled?

Thanks man, I just placed an order for new FCAs with polyeuro bushings, can't wait to put those in since mine are shot to hell and back. I'm still debating though to just take it to my mechanic since I'll probably procrastinate and not do it for a month. How long did it take, sorry if it already was mentioned.

This is for the actual arms, but post #2 will include a mini-DIY for the FCABs.Originally posted by PBRAre you replacing the actual FCAs themselves or just the bushings? I'd do the tie rods as well, though it is no problem to do them at a different time. You don't have to dismantle one to do the other, but it is convenient to do them at the same time. Other than that, you might consider sway bar end links (another culprit of clunking noises), but I think that's about it... there's always more to do, but I think those are all of your joints. I suppose you could go all out & tackle brakes & struts/springs while you're at it!
Thanks Trev. Hopefully it'll be helpful once I'm finished.Originally posted by SiriusNice writeup. Lookin good.

It really isn't that bad, it was just frustrating not knowing completely what I was doing; hence my motivation for making this DIY. If you've read through the guide a couple times before you start, I think 3 hours is very reasonable assuming you don't get distracted & have the appropriate tools.Originally posted by m3_858Thanks man, I just placed an order for new FCAs with polyeuro bushings, can't wait to put those in since mine are shot to hell and back. Yeah, the links are definitely toast... currently trying to decide if I want to go with aftermarket sways or stick to stock for now, & then I'll choose my new end links. Thanks for the heads up though!Originally posted by TGBimmerNice going Z. I've done it before and it ain't an easy job. I noticed in your 2nd or 3rd pic that your passenger side sway bar link needs to be replaced. Maybe you already knew that.
Keep up the good posts!
BTW - I saw your rain pics. do you live in Savannah?
& yeah I live in Savannah. Did you know we got drenched or something?

But I'm still wondering why you're replacing the actual control arms themselves [as oppposed to just the bushings]. They don't seem like a part that's likely to wear out - I mean, don't the bushings absorb the majority of the stress?
