    Had to happen...

After 20 years, I'm forced to let someone else work on my car...

It failed emissions testing and I just don't want to dig into it myself. So I dropped it off at At Speed Performance this morning. I figure after they figure out why, they can do a custom dyno tune on the ECU...

    Oh well...

WTF? For all the things he's done, (mostly good), he's got nothing to do with this....

I'm surprised they do emissions testing on OBD1

Yeah they still do and it's the sniffer test

You just need to make sure you "beat" on the car for about 30 minutes before doing the testing or else it's basically a guarantee fail.

Wasn't that the purpose of OBD1?

I have other people align and corner balance my cars.

I have my car(s) serviced for smog checks, Balance, alignment and while I was recovering from shoulder surgery I bought an X5 (auto -- had to so I could drive) and had the automatic transmission rebuilt and radiator hose replaced on my X5 (couldn't physically reach).

                      No shame in it

I don't know much about emissions testing outside new england. I'm just surprised that they test it on a car where they cannot also access an OBD2 port.

I thought you were going to say that you sold the car.
