Audi RS6, forgive me for posting this, in a BMW site.....

Well, I know this isn't a site for Audi's, but, I am friends with a dentist in town, and he got a :bow: Audi RS6, (the second fastest sedan in the world, first being the new E55). Man, that thing hauls!!! It only has 2800 mi. so, he still is easy on it, but, we G-timed it, and about 1/2 throttle, being easy on it, it got to 60 in 5.3, not even flooring it, and about 1/2 or less throttle. He wasn't aware of me having my permit, so he didn't let me drive that time, he was on his lunch break at the time, but said he would have let me, next time he said!! :thumbsup: Its a beautiful car, red, with white interior, w/the factory RS6 18's. Thought I would share that with you guys, sorry for this not being about a BMW, I apologize.

Well get used to it The new M5 has a 7 speed SMG (3?) tranny.

You mean you can't get a manual gearbox with it, sounds like that other German car company. :banghead: It's still a hot car, but I wouldn't buy it without a manual tranny.

The M5's V10 has an interresting torque curve, the 7 speed with unique gear ratios is the only way to really take advantage of the power band and keep it as close to the 9k rpm redline as possible.



bottom line = SMG is faster than a manual with even the best driver, executes perfect rev-matches, allows you to keep both hands on the wheel, no mis-shifts, etc.

Under bmws testing, the new M5s v10 was putting out over 500 horeses at over 10krpms. But they keep the redline at 9 for saftey reasons...

They DO offer a 6spd in the RS6...He just chose to get the tiptronic, still a flaming fast car!

And according to my little brother, whos 11, a car should go as fast as the ammount of horse power its got... so... we should all go around 250+mph, and the new m5 should be approaching the speed of sound soon... :P
