i dont know, i read an article in MotorTrend about a year ago saying Audi didnt have a manual tranny that could handle the RS6's power...

The RS6 racecar that is now competing in the touring car series? uses a 6-speed manual coupled to an even higher output version of the roadcar's engine. I know they can do it, perhaps it's not cost effective? Often times those transmissions/clutches can run into the high $$$.

The HMIII's only come in 17", they are 8.5" and have an offset of 35mm. You can get a great deal on them through The Wheel Exchange where they are 1076 for the set. Just picked up a set and they look even better in person with that nice fat "lip".

      Really, no 18"? Too bad.

I want to go radical on the rear end.

I am thinking of a set of 18" x 10J with 265s with the right offset to clear the strut on the inside and flare/bend the fender as much as I have to on the outside (even if that means I am going ot have to repaint).

You cant do too much with the front since you're limited (I haven't seen anybody go with anything bigger than 18" 9J 235s). I still want to push the wheels out as much as possible towards the roadside. I need to talk to an expert since this can screw up your handling.

very true. the fact that its AWD too may have an effect as well. But from what i hear, Audi's use weak clutches as it is, at least on their lower end models.

The whole half throttle thing is so relative. It's half gas pedal, that doesn't mean that you're only at half throttle I'm convinced.

I've often been cruising around in cars when I give it a good amount of gas, and then I go, now I'm REALLY going to floor it and it doesn't go any faster. I think cars are tuned these days to open the throttle more quickly so you perceive the car as having a lot left. You're like, "Wow, imagine the untapped resources".

Now that I look closer at E36DJ's wheels, and mine, his look like 18" HMII's. My HMIII's look like they have a deeper lip - might just be the photo though....

Yeah, that's a good point, I've noticed that too. I think all cars are the same that way.
