so at full throttle, it should be 2.65????

still, it's not about numbers...it's about your driving style I think, unless of course you do some hard core tracking or something like that.

The simple fact is that with lower power cars, manual is better. Once you start breaking the 500 hp mark an automatic is better for drag racing. There are hundreds of supra's in the 9 second quarter mile, and less than 10 of them are manuals. Interesting huh?

Well the whole driving satisfaction is a good arguement but impossible to win! Everyone has the own oppinion. I have a friend who just got rid of his M5 (6spd) for a RS6 tip, and he said the car is so much better. He said he now knows what the magazines mean by power stearing (sliding the car around the corner using the throtle to help you steer). He says the RS6 is so confident inspiring it is almost scarey. I haven't had a chance to drive it so I am just taking his word for it. By the way, I know it's not exaclty the same but last time I checked F1 cars have paddle/automatic shifting, and I would venture to say they are pretty satisying to drive.

Interesting comments about the RS6. Nearly every e39 m5 driver and magazine review I've read seems to favor the now outdated e39 over the RS6 in the handling department. The auto and SMG issues...no one buys manuals in the US. Could they put manulals in the RS6/E55/M5...sure, but they'll sell a lot more cars with slushboxes, SMG or otherwise, installed instead. The way I see it, e39 m5 prices will start to really drop with the release of the e60 then I'll pick myself up an '03 on the cheap.

Never get a first model year BMW, even if its used. Take thes 7s for example. We had some at work for over 6 months due to updated and bad electronics.

I would wait till BMW works out the kinks on the e60, and then get at least a late 05 one.

i dont know, i read an article in MotorTrend about a year ago saying Audi didnt have a manual tranny that could handle the RS6's power...

That would be a shame, I'm sure they would lose a lot of sales if they didn't offer a manual (the 3 pedal version).

                              Great looking machine E36DJ.

Are those HAMANN-HM3s you got there?

                              18" right?

How are you setup dude? You look awesome.

(I mean are you staggered? what "J" are your wheels/offset.

                              Tire size-what suspension?

Also, what kind are your head-lights?)

The HMIII's only come in 17", they are 8.5" and have an offset of 35mm. You can get a great deal on them through The Wheel Exchange where they are 1076 for the set. Just picked up a set and they look even better in person with that nice fat "lip".
