Is it eay to upgrade to Euro spec rotors

I own an 99 E36 M3...I am considering uprating to the Euro spec brake rotors...I was wondering if this would be a bolt on converstion or would I have to make addtional changes to accomodate the new rotors? (i.e. Would I have change the calipers too etc.)

    Thank you

Negative. I put the euro floaters on friday night. They go right on, no mods needed.

Does the euro rotor have the same diameter? I'm wondering because my winter wheels are 16" and just barely clear my setup as is.

          Are they slotted?

no, they are a floating rotor.

The E46 euro floaters are cross drilled. The E36 floaters are non-slotted and non-crossdrilled.

They're still enough for light track duty with proper pads though right? A guy on here tracks with stock rotors and Hawk HPS I think...so I'm sure these are fine.

I'm probably going to get a set soon.

From what I have read, the euro floaters are supposed to be very good rotors, and if that guys trackign with US spec rotors, I would think the euro rotors will be able to handle the track too.

can you buy floating rotors that are either cross drilled or slotted?

Yep, E46 M3 rotors are an example of this.

Yeah, they are a good example. However, too bad they don't fit the e36. I would really love to have thoes rotors heheeh. But I am very happy with the euro floaters.

Car stops so smooth, I love it. And they look good too!

Do you want to think about that question and ask again?

The mounting point is the same... you're using your same calipers... what part of the rotor do you think could possibly interfere with a wheel where the caliper wouldn't???

                          :smash:

I think he may be talking about the invisa-cooler on the back of the euro-rotors...

Well, of course he was, but if you change out the Euro invisa-cooler for a super-carbon rotometric cooling shield, you can squeeze into a 16" no problem.
