wait wait...are you guys sure about the ASC thing. Time to google it.

      Here we go:

      http://users.cybercity.dk/~bbo2530/Private/traction.htm

IT does brake the rear wheels.

" In addition, ASC+T will also activate the brakes in the rear wheels if necessary, and to varying degrees if frictional coefficients on the road differ...The ASC+T system knows when stability and traction have to be increased thanks to the ABS sensors, which provide the computer with a steady stream of data on wheel slip for each side of the car, as well as on changing speeds in the drive wheels. If the predetermined limits are exceeded, the control unit will instantly activate the traction system."

Hmmm.. You learn something new every day.

So does anyone know if there would be any adverse effects from pulling the ASC fuse?

I just cant wait for snow, with no TC... Do you all with '96+ feel a major difference in light snow when you turn on/off TC? I hope I can survive.....

Judicious use of your right foot is the best form of traction control.

pulling the fuse will effect the abs also.

If you want to delete the ASC you need to use a 98 M roadster intake boot.

I've been ascless for 3 years and have no problems.
