IMHO, put the roundel on, and use the standard one... looks stock that way until you get up close...

Actually, someone mentioned to me that there are Roundels out there that have some CF in them. I think that would look very nice on the CF hood. If anyone has a link handy to a retailer of CF roundels, I would be much appreciated. Otherwise, I'll google it.

BTW, get a Euro engine, it'd fill that hole so much better...

You know, I *used* to think you were an OK chap...until this statement...JERK!!! Yeah, I'll just pop down to my local, chain auto parts store and have them throw one of the 15 euro M3 engines they have in stock in the back of my Passat. The euro engines come with PnP connectors, just like the euro lights, right??????

    A$$ clown...

ebay has tons of CF things. I've seen CF M emblems that fit, and I THINK CF roundels, but they might have just been black or kits to black out the blue...I don't really remembe. r

Cosmos black is the only color that can pull the CF hood off

I agree, unless it's painted of course : ) I just know I'm offending someone...

I would vote for the classic roundel, unless these cf one's look really really good (the one's I've seen are carbon fiber 'look' stickers)

Not me...I agree 100%. CF only works with black, otherwise PAINT IT!!!

Your and Sirius' votes have been added to the count. Thank you, please come again eace:

The hood is almost finished. I'm just having a devil of a time getting it aligned properly when it's closed. I've put more time than I want to into this part of it. I think i might just take it to a shop and pay them a couple bucks to do it right. We'll see. I'm going to play with it some more tonight, then that's it.

it seems to blend better with the M3

a CF hood on a wagon isn't really what you call "normal"

what are you using for a hood prop? did it take the stock hood struts?

The handle from my shop broom  .

There were some pre-drilled holes in the general area, but no way to attach the hood struts to them. I don't want to risk fracturing the hood with them, so I will pick up a proper hood prop, soon.

I hear that. thought it was just me with the hood prop issue.

this one is pretty compact, check it out: http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/pro_det.asp?tool=all&item_ID=11674&group_ID=1558&s tore=snapon-store&dir=catalog

Well folks, the CF Hood install is finished!!

I ended up not being able to use the OE hood liner. It was too thick and was causing alignment issues. Once I took that off, the alignment came very quickly. It's damned near perfect! I called VIS and they assured me the hood would not suffer any ill effects w/o the hood liner.

Just need to find myself a suitable roundel, and I'm off to the races!!!

I actually put the CF roundels on my car (the stickers were free with my intake) and on a black car they really don't look that bad, it is nice little change. Do youself a favor and at least put a new roundel on it (regardless of color). My old one was getting really bad.

By the way, where is the hood liner?
