Do youself a favor and at least put a new roundel on it (regardless of color). My old one was getting really bad.

Actually, mine's not in that bad of shape. I think I'm just going to reuse it. I want to have a clear bra put on the hood and would rather spend the $$ on that.

By the way, where is the hood liner?

Sitting in my garage. Why, want to buy it?

If you are asking where it is on the car...open your hood and just look at it. It's that foam wrapped in black felt you see. It's held in by about 50 plastic retaining clips. I've got a mint one for sale, if you are missing yours or it is in bad shape!!!

        r3drage,

Where did you get your hood pins? How much were they? How do you install them? Can you get them in different colors, i.e. black (I hate the silver ones, stand out too much)?

        Thanks for your input,

Gotcha, I was just wondering where it was on the car. By the way, the hood looks nice on the black car.

            FLi -

you can always purchase the silver ones and have them anodized black.

I have a pair I had anodized for the A4, just been lazy to install them...

            .

See, thing is, I really DON'T want to use pins. I don't like the look.

However, I don't want to risk the hood breaking loose at speed and disinigrating into a million pieces as it hits my windshield.

I guess I'll just have to get the car up to speed and see how it looks. If there seems to be a lot of movement, I'll pin it.

i feel ya FLi - that's why i'm procrastinating on the install - i figure the A4 doesn't see much track time n-e-more, so it should be ok...

Nice, looks great on a black car, not to sure on other colors, now all you have to do is replace the fenders. trunk, door...........................

I think track time is the key discriminator as to whether hood pins are necessary or not.

I was talking with a good friend of mine last night that races a lot. He said with the stock, dual pin setup the E36 has, hood pins really aren't necessary for street use. IF the setup was like my VWs with a single hood pin right in the center of the hood, then pins would be a must.

So, I'm going to do w/o them. Can't wait to get her cleaned up and start driving her again!! I'll post some more pics when she's all shiny and sexy as fresh pu$$y :bugeye: .
