Well, I found this 2000 Z28 Camaro for sell the other day, and it really got my attention. Its silver, with black leather, t-tops, 6spd, 350hp ls1 corvette engine, and custom exhaust. with 68,000 miles. I was so close to trading it was not even funny, but my dad refused to let me trade my bimmer for a chevy. The main reason I wanted to trade was becasue I could have had a perfect camaro, exelent condition, extremely fast, and have about 5-6 grand back in the bank for mods and a motorcycle next summer. Was I loosing my mind for even considering this or, think I was smoking dope, or would you choose to have the less expensive camaro, but still a fast/nice car, and a cycle?

I don't blame you for thinking about trading in your M. Those Camaro's are nice and fast, but also they are alot different then the M3. They are meant as a muscle car; big engine and great for straight line speed. While your car is a better balanced car with terrific handling as well. It all comes down to what u want out of a car. I know whenever I get out of my buddies 96 Impala, I want one, the engine note is freakin awesome  .
Personally (if I had an M3 (im just on here because I wanna buy one when i graduate college in a year)) I would probably keep the M. I prefer handling over straight out speed anyday. But again those damn LS1's sound great and can make loads of power.

In my opinion, I think camaros are ugly as hell. Way too damn long and no distinct lines at all. 350hp, big deal, it's nowhere near as classy/rare as the E36 M3 is.
I understand where you're coming from about the bike, because I want one too. But I want my M and an '04 R1, so I'll be working until I have enough money for it. I could sell my car and buy a civic for $5,000 and have $17k to play with! :banghead: But I bought the M for a reason, and I'm sure you did too.

LT1's made 260hp and 330lb ft in the Impala SS, 300hp and 340lb ft in the Corvette and I believe the same for the Camaro.
The C4 Vette (the one with the LT1) ran 13.7-13.9 consistently and was about 3200lbs.
The Impala SS ran low 15's consistently and was about 4300lbs.
The Camaro might not be as nice as an M3, but it isnt a slouch. Neither are the other cars with an LT1. With just a headers, exhaust, and a new rear end my buddy is in the high 13's with his Impala.

I have a friend who just loves his Firebird with LTI power. I don't bother trying to point out what is lacking in this model. The biggest problem is that quality control was very slack on the entire F body line. They were made in Quebec and GM didn't bother ever trying to make them great quality cars. They are very neat however, so if they excite you like they do my friend.. why not. Lazy, muscle like torque is a great quality. Believe it or not, you can actually fit a racing Go Kart in the hatchback too.

I will never forget a quote by the editor of MotorTrend Mag. He was drinving the 03 SS to do a write up on it.He said he felt so embareassed to be seen in it that he actually taped a note pad up on the drivers window so know one he knew would see him driving it, even though it was work related. Uhh as far as I can remember I cant imagine an auto journalist saying this driving a M3.

Sounds like an insecure person to me. I am glad GM built the Camaro. Not for everybody, but an honest bang for the buck. At the time of it's intro it was ground breaking. Two airbags, ABS, six speed, discs all around. $19,000. If driven by the right person it will shut down many a higher priced poseur.

haha. look at the extremely tight body gaps, especially above the middle left air vent!! LOL. I also like the fact that the entire interior has plastic that has the same texture and shine on every surface.
Well, maybe the tight turning radius on these makes up for the cheap plastics..oh no wait, the turning radius stinks too...
