    Turbos, Superchargers and Cams

I can't decide on if i want to go with a turbo, supercharger or just stick with the engine and go with the cam kit. I'm not looking to make my car a rocket ship but i would like mid to low 13's.

Depends how much you can spend on your engine.

      Mid 13s= Cams

      Low 13s=Supercharger

      12s=Turbo..

how about just being a better driver and get some wider/stickier rims/tire.

power can never get you good 1/4 times with out a good driver.

A driver can only do so much....power has to come into play at some point...

Get new cams and a better head.

I have messed around with blowers and turbos. You will spend a bunch of time and money and the thing will still not run right. Then you will get pissed and sell it

The e36 M3 head is about as good as it gets. Far better flow bench numbers than a 2JZGTE motor (only referenced as everyone refers to it as the paradigm for high performance engines)...Only very minor power can be extracted from a Pnp job, and even that is only a boosted motor.

I did think 2wice about the head. I wasnt sure if anyone even made an aftermarket head.

How would he drop into the 13's with these mods?? He has three mods which MIGHT help him speed wise, and he has lowering springs which would be detrimental in a 1/4 mile race.

Please note: while lights and paint make a car look better, they don't increase your speed.

If you want to go fast in the quarter mile......you should buy a different car (see thread "got smoked by a vette today").

Actually the lowering springs would help as there would be far less motion in the weight transfer over the rear wheels.

As far as the rest of it..I just took Drifter as being facetious..of course its obvious his current mods wouldnt put him into the low 13s

I have seen high performance heads on bekkers.com. What do you think about those?

A Head vs. Headers are completely different things. Headers are a nickname for the exhaust manifold, whereas the Head is the Cylinder Head.

As far as the Bekkers headers...those are not quality...the only headers that make power on e36s are long-tube designed headers like those made my Supersprint, and KromerKraft...the ones you referenced from Bekkers are Short-Tubed or are also known as Shorties. (non power-producing)

I was talking about the high performance cylinder heads. Sorry I know the difference btw headers/exhause manifold. I mean what do you think of the high performance cylinder head. When its time for headers, Im going with AA's setup.
