I did fifteen double takes because the color was so different, I though it was a wrap except it looked so "OEM" for lack of a better word.

Now its like bigfoot . . I, I have to get a picture.

Aftermarket paint job by one of the previous owners. Probably was inspired by Valencia Orange or Byzantine, but never got an official paint code. Hence I haven't paint matched the trunk or repaired the front bumper yet haha.

But I did find a very rare individual paint code called Coloured Gold Metallic (S04). This is the closest match I have seen inside BMW's paints. It's almost spot on.

I forgot, ya it's a respray. That S04 is a great match. Probably isn't Byzanz then. Byzanz is darker I think. Slightly more copper.

Ya it's was very polarizing in the e36 days.

Anybody remember that yahoo on Bimmerforums with the byzanz e36? "John 3:16" or some biblical username.

MY2005, 6 speed, and glorious grey nappa leather.

I've had the car for about 3 years now, now up to ~82K. Big three are done, and now just working on that OEM+ set up 👍

This is my '02, LSB, 6 spd, slick top, black interior daily turned weekend/track car:

I picked it up in New Jersey six years ago, drove it back to Los Angeles with my dad in under 50 hours, including an overnight stop in Albuquerque.

I got to modifying it further and tracking it pretty quickly after taking ownership:

Eventually picked up some Volks as my street wheel set up, switched to a flat-ride suspension using MCS dampers and Swift springs. Did Schrick cams, stepped headers, etc.:

I smashed the CSL front at the track so I'm back to the stock front for now. Eventually I'll pick up the Mile End rep but for now I'm just enjoying tracking and driving it:

I built this to be the daily and keep some miles off the M3:
