Feeler: Interest in Bilstein Coilovers GB

    Hey guys!

As the Supersprint GB finally gets to invoicing. I've been eyeing high level brands to create a Connex for coilovers.

I am in talks directly with Bilstein US for E46, E9X and E60 M applications.

They have the B16 (PSS10, 1995$ MSRP) and Clubsport coilovers (4,140$ MSRP) available for the E46 M3 chassis, see highlighted links.

This is strictly a feeler at the moment. I need to get a feeling for volume to negotiate terms & conditions for the community. I would expect a 25-35% off discount - though nothing has been discussed as of yet.

If discount of 25-35% is realistic target, I'd be interested in PSS10

          Interested in B16 PSS10.

          Two notes:
To those who are interested, specify your choice.
Get a list going in top thread.

This would be a cross platform GB, and Ohline RT’s don’t have the value proposition of the Damptronics. The Bilsteins are EDC compatible and have much better rebuild intervals.

For track guys, the Clubsport is a better coilover than RTs.

I see. If we hit that 30% off I will most likely jump on pss10 . Thank you.

Will the discounts be against the MAP or the retail? I've never seen Bilstein listed for MSRP anywhere, it's always MAP or "add to cart to find out your price."

What is the consensus on these? If my memory isn't failing me people consider the PSS10s as a great jack of all trades option for the E46. My car is all stock, so 20 years on I wouldn't mind refreshing. Aside from a more compliant ride and a bit less body roll in corners, I wouldn't mind dropping my car a bit for aesthetics. But I seem to recall most people said these are best at around OEM height. Are these a bad option if I'm looking to drop the car 3/4" or at most 1"? My car is street driven (almost entirely for enjoyment), but I would like to dabble in some HPDE at some point - definitely don't think I'll be turning into a track rat any time soon though. How would they be for maybe one track day a year?

Anyway if the discount falls around the higher end, I'd definitely be interested in the B16s.

They are listed at MSRP ($1995) on Bimmerworld and Turner, although it looks like they may have issues supplying right now.

I had PSS10s before switching to Ohlins. I would not describe the PSS10 ride as compliant. Ride was certainly harsher than stock, and the car didn't feel all that settled. I switched to Ohlins last year, and it's a night and day difference despite similar spring rates.

Thats why I asked for those :-) I honestly think that with huge desire for Ohlins among many people here, if Epoustouflant considered a GB for those, that wold've been a huge success.

Thanks for the interesting feedback. Im interested to know what kind of driving you mostly did with the PPS10 and the ohlins... street? or track? I think depending on your driving style it might have different consequence

For what it’s worth my experience is almost opposite. I run pss10 on full soft and find it comparable to stock if not a hair less harsh. The best thing I can say about the kit is that it is incredibly settled. Hit a bump on the freeway and it’s one motion then settled. I did turn up the damping once and turned it right back down after being jiggled over a smooth road.
