Interested in peoples experience with replacing the Vanos oil line with an aftermarket line. Looks like I have developed a small leak and considering going with the rouge engineering version or bimmerworld. Is there another one I should consider? Is it worth going aftermarket or just sticking with OE? One thing with aftermarket is it looks like none of the solutions will have the same routing as the OE line which bugs me a little. Had read mixed reviews on the old M3forum on this. Thoughts?

I went with the Hack Engineering line and haven’t had any issues. It’s pressure tested to exceed the OE line specs. Added bonus that you they also have several colors to choose from.2005 BMW M3 ZCP Black/Black - HTE Tuning | Kassel CSL DME | 288/280 Schrick Cams+DLC Followers | Lang Head | Dinan TBs | Bosch 550cc | Radium Fuel System | Karbonious CSL Airbox+OE Snorkel | SS V1 Stepped+Catted Sec 1+Resonated Twin Pipe+Race | 3.91, 3 stage clutch | FCM 400/600 | Vorshlag Camber Plates, RSM | Rogue ASP | AKG FCABs, SFBs | TMS Front Sway, Camber Arms, Monoball RTABs, Pullies | Mason Race Strut + X-Brace | AS 30% SSK | SPAL | Redish Plates | Turbo Toys V2 Hub | WPC Rod Bearings

I got the RE and didn’t like that it only comes with one mounting tab compared to other aftermarket options.06 ZCP SMG | HTE CSL MAP QuaranTune | SL CSL Airbox | Eventuri Scoop | DMG Strut Bar | RE El Diablo | CPI Euro200R | AP Headers | Porsche BBK | ST XTA | TMS 3-Pulleys/F-Sway/Mono FCAB | AKG Trans/diff/Subframe/RTAB | SPL RCA | SGT SCZA Trunk | ACL | Beisan | Redish | AFD E85 |

There was a thread about this recently.
The Genuine BMW line is a revised part just so you know. With all that I still went with Rogue Engineering’s.
Hope this helps:

The revised line has 2 mounting tabs vs the original version that has 1.
The aftermarket lines have hose ends which has some give to take up vibration from the engine. Industrial applications will rarely spec hose over hard lines in high pressure applications. From what I’ve seen, hoses are vigorously tested to some engineering standard before being put into service.
I doubt that these hoses are individually tested.
That’s why I stay with the BMW part.
