Ran Redline MTF for a few thousand miles until a forum brother hooked me up with Pentosin from his private stash Worst driving experience to best driving experience.

I haven't had any of these issues with redline that people are talking about. I've used pentosin also. Feels about the same?

I changed my trans fluid a few months back with a redline. If anything I’ve only seen improvement. Haven’t noticed anything bad.

                Feel is a criteria.

                Also:
                -gear protection
                -longevity
                -syncro protection
                -cold weather performance
                -heat (track) performance

In my experience, best feel is no oil at all, though mine only lasted 200 miles this way. YMMV.

I'm running Redline MTL for 5 years/20k so far, no issues. But I wouldn't call the shifting buttery smooth by any means. Before that I tried Royal Purple which did feel worse. Maybe I should go OE

Go OE. Those are both bad options on this car.

Too thick, esp for colder climates.

Might be a good choice for track car in warmer climate.

FWIW, I've had good, first hand experience with Pentosin's mtf2 replacement, ffl4. No need to use anything else unless you can still get oe mtf lt2 from bmw for a fair price.

Same. I use it in both my E92 and Z4M. My E46 has MTF LT2 and they all feel the same to me to be honest.

There is honestly no need to look into other options when the good stuff is so cheap. Just flush it and be done with it. why try stuff like LM that you may or may not have to flush again? waste of time and money

Agreed. I'd only go back to OE or Pentosin's MTF2 if I could find it for a good price or had a stash like Ian.
