    Stroker
    headwork
    ti valves
    big cams
cage with gtr style rear tie in
real CSL parts besides boot. Who's done full CSL exh?
Full stepped/2,5" piping with dixis or other rare exh or valved

He has a point. We all do about the same mods. That is due to them being great choices, but nonetheless, it's not that exciting to see anymore

Lazy. Isn't the hunt part of the fun? I'm having a ball bringing a neglected car back to glory

He's also doing it on IG/youtube, not here. SM is fun, I have an account too, but I will always be a part of the forum where we can actually talk and explain things and ask coherent questions, not "wut whlz spec?"

Yeah me too. I’d expect Matt to pick up a more interesting color combo like IB on cinnamon or even Alpine on cinnamon/Imola. I think he said the simple color combo is what he appreciates. He paid crazy money for it too. It’s an 05 and not even a ZCP. I don’t see how it’s worth more than 40 to be honest.

either way it will be fun watching him dump 30 grand into it in the next two months and ruin the resale value. He just spent close to 100 grand on that E36 and another ten grand on that E92 exhaust. Do you really make that much money off YouTube views ? 🤣

          He's boring.

Also buying from EAG is a cop out. Should have made it interesting by buying a clapper from Queens and rebuilding that.

The value that Matt brings is going to be strictly from the entertainment value standpoint and his own unique way of documenting the process. The production quality of the content and all around OCD approach with the cleanliness of the environment he works in is what personally keeps bringing me back.
This is why I enjoy watching his vids. This car isn't a civic where owners can't afford to mod them to their taste. Everything that can possibly be done has been done, well, except a carbon chassis or rear quarters haha.

While my list isn't extreme like Tbones, the first would definitely be non-stock rims unless he's going full csl. Look at the e92 and it is basically stock looking following his mod template/formula (not that it's a bad thing). I like cars that have personality and have some semblance of character while still being tasteful but different strokes I guess. I like the gt3 most because of the green interior though I'd never get that color myself, but he was forced into that purchase for which I commend him. Again looking forward to his excellent production skills and video quality.

man, e'rybody acting like it's election day or something.

I don't really care if how Matt goes about building his cars are to your particular taste or not. The quality of the video production is good, and all of the content out there on this car is super old. I'm interested even if he did buy it from EAG.

Well to be fair I meant back in the day. The honda scene was born here and many years later guys who have the dough have gone back and spent multiples of what the cars are worth.

A long time ago when I was in college I still managed to have two motor swaps, jdm goodies and multiple sets of rims. In fact I'm still a legend in those circles

an appropriate term for him borrowed from sneaker culture would be that he's a culture vulture

Spent $65k on a non ZCP car w/ 40k miles & repainted front bumper, rear bumper, and hood that needs a TON of cosmetic fixes (per his own assessment in the video)?! - what the heck does that healthy $20k premium really buy from EAG?

I should also add, anyone with a significant number of a following as some of these guys on YouTube making content around these cars is a huge plus for keeping the community alive, parts staying available, and aftermarket support being as strong as ever, if not stronger than when the car first came out.

Yeah, the EAG tax is a lot of BS. "Inspecting the vanos" while not doing anything to repair it. Same with subframe.

They refresh some trims and call it grade A condition. Anyone can do that, but they have the benefit of buying all super low mile cars and selling them to guys who don't know any better.

                        Current:

I thought they atleast did that much as well.... But in the video he points out all the trim in bad shape and says he's going to "DIAL IT IN" by replacing all the crumbling trim. Oh well - his money to do with as he pleases. I hope the car turns out nice, and brings alot of good publicity to the e46 platform

I suppose on the flip side we get to see what a premium EAG e46 is really like as OG tears it apart and looks deeper. If anything its a first time ive seen such an EAG example being looked at under a microscope. That alone is interesting imo
