Fuel pump fuse. Car still starts

I pulled the 20amp fuse for the fuel pump to perform a fuel filter change. However the car kept running.. It did run rough but did keep running for atleast 15 seconds befor i shut it off. What gives?

Yeah, that's supposed to happen. And good thing you pulled the fuse or you'd have fuel spraying everywhere when you go to change the filter out

Maybe if the car has been sitting around for a while it's fine. If it's just been run and you go to pull the line out, it'll be a mess.

Or maybe it's different on non-Ms (my car) versus the Ms

You're mostly correct. If you want to change your fuel filter (and car was run/primed recently), you don't need to pull fuse and run car till it quits. You can let pressure out at the Schrader valve on the FPR.

If the car's been sitting, there won't be any pressure.

I pulled the fuse then cranked the engine a few times to burn off the residual. I would have expected the engine to die after a new seconds with no fuel.
