    Camber plates with stock suspension

I am happy with my stock suspension for my 90/10 street/DE 04 M3. My main desire is to get more than the stock 1.5 degrees of camber in the front so I can eliminate understeer. I eventually will go full coil over, but I have a lot of other priorities right now so would like to see if I could make a step in the right direction by buying camber plates first. I’d like to buy some that are compatible with coil overs I could buy later in order to avoid wasting money. Thoughts on this?

I think I want to end up with TCK SA (which I understand you can buy with or without camber plates) so was on their website and saw these. However they say they are incompatible with a stock M3 suspension. Can I solve that by using E36 hats? What is involved switching these out?

I am also open to any other suggestions/brand of camber plates. Thanks.

In my opinion you should just go with coilovers that come with camber plates already. No point in buying camber plates for stock suspension if you’re going to buy coilovers anyways. A way to eliminate under steer is get a wider wheel in the front, are you running the stock wheels?

Turner MS or Vorshlag camber plates will work with stock suspension and certain coilovers with an OEM V-shaped spring, such as Ohlins, KW. They also sell the parts to convert the camber plates to work with smaller diameter springs for other coilovers like TCK, MCS.

You can also consider swapping the stock top hats from side to side to get some extra camber for free.

I managed to get -2.1° by doing that: https://nam3forum.com/forums/forum/m...1961#post91961

On the topic of wasting money, you're going to have a good bit of labor (even if its DIY) and service (alignment) duplication. Waiting until coil overs to install plates seems more sensible?

Good point on the multiple alignments, I didn’t think of that. Yes I am running a square set up already. I did not know about the swapping of hats from side to side, will look into that.

seems like the consensus is to wait until I can get the coil overs. Interesting.

I bought Vorshlag plates with their stock spring perches until I made the upgrade to coilovers. I simply purchased a new set of perches for the appropriately sized spring at the time I made the upgrade.

If you are sure you know what springs you’ll run in the future you could buy those plates with, let’s say the 2.25” perches and be covered for the future.

Now, this is a bit of a shameless plug but I still have the stock sized perches and would gladly sell them if you want them. Shoot me a pm if so.

Thanks, sent you a PM. I guess I am confused on what the perch looks like/does and how it integrates with the camber plate. Will do some research here.

Does anyone know of other vendors (besides vorshlag) that sell camber plates that you can use with both stock suspensions and coil overs (in the future)?

I run GC street plates with Koni Yellows. They work well together and you get the full shock travel vs stock top hats that limit you about an inch.

Just swap the stock top mounts from one side to the other. Make sure they're still facing forward though lmao.

Do you mean to get more camber with the stock suspension?

BTW the coil overs I eventually want to get are TCK SAs, however when I called them today they said their system is completely incompatible with any camber plates that can fit with the stock suspension. Bummer.
