2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, 197,000k and leaking fluids from every orfice imaginable but it gets through these NE winters like a champ.

I recently replaced the front drive shaft for about $600, that is about half the market value of my daily driver.

I used to daily a 5.9 Limited ZJ back in the day. Loved that thing in the winter.

If I could get a running Cherokee XJ for $1000 I would cancel my $1000 winter wheel + tire order for the Miata and just buy that instead

The XJ is a better choice than my WJ imo for a cheap Jeep, but both were made in large quantities so 2nd hand parts are readily available.

I would like to track down a nice Cherokee, I had a red 1997 Cherokee country edition in high-school and that was a gorgeous Jeep and could deal with the elements even better than the WJ.

My WJ has the 4.0l straight 6 as did my 97', bulletproof engines imo.

I had a '02 Pathfinder LE 4WD, which was FANTASTIC! It's the only car I regret getting rid of, except that I traded it for an '06 S55 AMG at the perfect time (which I still drive "daily" weather permitting).

I still daily the M3, but since I've largely been working from home since March 2020 I've only put about 5000 miles on it in the last couple years combined. Hell, my '85 F-250 diesel has had more miles put on it just rattling around hauling stuff and making Home Depot runs.
