the weight savings all the way in the front is a bonus I guess.
Yeah, Kevlar is an ///M upgraded part and still the better bumper carrier.

Hey guys, so my car is an early build date with the metal bumper carrier. The body shop accidentally ordered a late build date bumper cover, in spite of me going over the fact that they are different, and giving them the right part number for the early Euro bumper cover. Anyway long story short, they painted the one they got

    Thanks!

I ordered the front carrier and mounting parts two days ago. I will get back on this after I receive the parts and had a chance to install.

Hey guys, I picked my car up from the body shop yesterday after having been without it since October. Long story short, they got the wrong bumper cover and decided to update my front bumper from early with the metal carrier to late with the kevlar carrier, without asking me first  , and were ultimately not able to get

side note, interested in your bumper carrier shocks when you swap over. You’ll no longer need them
I have mine still if you need those. Also have the metal carrier.

Be careful when buying a used Kevlar rebar. The aluminum mounting plate is bonded to the kevlar and it is common for the plate to be bent.

Lesson learned...don't mount splitter struts to a Kevlar rebar.

    Why?

I cannot really say which one reacts better in case of impact.

I'm doing the swap because I have 2 free bumper covers, the weight savings all the way in the front is a bonus I guess.

I’ve been planning on going with a new “euro” OEM bumper skin. Just cleaner looking. Interested in what is the idea behind the aluminum being better than the Kevlar? Now would be an easy time to switch if better.

Bumper carrier swap from Alu to Kevlar

    Hi there,

I have seen some threats about going from the kevlar front bumper carrier to aluminum for CSL bumper fits.

I am trying to do the opposite, as I have an early model with the aluminum carrier and two bumper covers I got for free but they are for kevlar carriers.

So does anyone know if I just need the kevlar carrier itself or are there any other things I need to consider?

    Thanks!
