No way I’d pay $1300. Or find a junk m3 that someone’s parting out and tell him $20 he will probably take it.
I was hoping something like that might be doable - but I fear that anyone who would have one knows what they cost.

Just go to a junkyard. Pull one off any e46 if it’s the same part number. Probably $5

Google shows a couple places in town, but I just feel the chance any of them will have the part I'm looking for is slim to none. But, won't know unless I ask.

Could I get another pair of eyes to look at this and see if I'm seeing the numbers on the one I posted being the same as on this one?

          SKU: 34526764018. OE/OEM Part Number: 34526764018. OEM Part # 34 52 6 764 018(34526764018). 2002-2006 Mini Cooper Hatchback (R50, R53). 2005-2008 Mini Cooper Convertible (R52). DSC speed sensor.

Because to me, it looks like a match.

EDIT: I took a chance - looked at past sales of this item from the seller and in 2021 they sold 3 of them for $70. So I made an offer of that much. Says free returns up to 30 days, so I figure I can take a flier on a $1300 part for $70. I also asked if they could confirm it would fit my M3.

Go for it, the part number is the same, as long as they can confirm it works somehow..

Why not just tell him to stop all work and ship it back home to a indy BMW shop? In the end it will save you a good amount I would think.

That one looks like crap, but do these yaw rate sensors go bad?

Does yours look like that because of the water intrusion event?

Because the work is already done, that's why.

I believe so. My traction control and other lights have been on for a few years - all starting around the time of the mold event.

Seeing all that oxidation, I certainly think it's bad - and the on board says it is, hence the lights.

Email from the seller says it will work with my M3. We'll see if they go for my $70 offer now I suppose.

EDIT: With the added cost to get the car fixed, the detail is out of the question now.

Oh gotcha....im a few hours west in cincy. Plenty of good indy shops around me.

I have a spare one that you can have if that doesn’t work out. No idea if it’s working, pulled it from a part out a few years ago for a project I never ended up doing.

Seller replied that they're tested functional and guaranteed for 6mos.

Now waiting to see their reply to my $70 offer.

EDIT: Never mind, just saw they turned down the offer of $70 with no counter.

Offer again, anything is better than the price OEM really. Good luck man, I really want you to get back into your car. The waits gotta be excruciating.

DoubleSidedTape was extremely generous and we came to an agreement for the one he has, so it's on the way to my folks. If it doesn't work, then I'll go back to them and see what offers they might take instead.

It'll have been almost 18mos since I've sat in it when I go home. Years since I've driven it consistently. To say I'm excited is an understatement.
