Honestly, even stock is fine, with reinforcement plates as insurance (not even likely needed with stock like spring rates). Though the life span on OE might be less, but the cost is much less too.

Screw ECS. Clearance is the only section I go to. Even that has been full of garbage for a while.

Update: hadn't touched the car for months. Finally pulled it apart, and the RSM failure was catastrophic due to poor design; the monoball was actually fine. Urethane bushing completely disintegrated itself on the top side; shavings all over the top of the shock tower inside the trunk and what was left of the bottom half was only contained by the washer/cover. Car sounded like someone was in the trunk with a baseball bat.

So heads up if you have these they WILL eventually fail.

And just to show they were assembled correctly. Notice how much play just using two fingers (that's what she said)

I鈥檓 also a victim of this crap ECS Tuning part , passenger side failed after 11k miles. It鈥檚 been installed for about 6 years- the occasional clunk started about 18 months ago and total failure about a week ago. I stopped buying parts from ECS in 2022 so this is the final nail in the coffin for my relationship with ECS. Unfortunately it seems many of the BMW parts e-tailers are owned by the same PE firm so best I can do is to trust other OEM+ parts.

I have the RE's, they seem to be a good stock-like design.
Meyle has their Heavy Duty version as well, that honestly might be the best all-round choice for a street car.

But yeah, fuck ECS stuff, I bought their vanos line a while back and immediately returned it after thinking twice about some Chinese shit responsible for HP engine oil.

Just so folks are aware Turner is now owned by ECS. I know many folks like the Turner front camber plates (I used to run them a long time ago) I would be suspect of any Turner branded products as well as they seem to be moving the manufacturing of the original Turner designs to low budget facilities.

Once in a while I will buy factory or OEM parts from ECS but I now avoid any ECS/Turner branded items at app cost!

Cubieman perfect , ty - I have RE on order and their other parts (pulleys, vanos line, rasp pipe) have never let me down. Live and learn.

RE are fine. They're actually a copy of TCK (who used to produce them for Rogue actually).

Out of necessity I got some stock RSM's at the time of this thread because they were cheap and local. No issues, shocking I know. Since this experience I have exclusively bought parts from FCP, RM, and AutohausAZ as my meager middle finger to ECS and the joy I get has been pleasantly matched by the quality of service from those retailers. As someone with three old BMW's and undiagnosed levels of OCD, I'm not the worst customer to have..

Also LOL at the new price of these Ultimate POS's.... $408 now!

If a Turner part was made before ECS bought it and has not been redesigned...probably OK. The monoball FCAB and RTAB have been OK so far for me...3 years? As an example, Turner redesigned the rear lower control arm. I would not buy that.

For camber plates, Vorshlag is the only answer and has been for the last 20 years. BY FAR...the most durable camber plate on the market. I wouldn't buy anything else from Vorshlag except for their camber plate.
