Oh well then…that’s interesting. Good move as the oem headliners are now NLA.

I want to do it, but i don't want to make my phoenix yellow look tacky, I also think painting it kind of defeats the purpose
    Conflicted.

There is worse out there. Once I saw an ///M AMG Type R RS badged 530i with an ebay rear wing...mounted backwards. He was Asian...and we officially disowned him...hence the fact that he WAS Asian.

m3dragon's car had no expense spared on it. He bought it brand new and did a full CSL build with a 100k+ spreadsheet. That is a real carbon Vorsteiner roof. He swapped it out for OE CSL later on.

OEM roof? I believe it is 6 - 1x1, biaxial, a layer of I don't know what, core, biaxial and I think a spread tow is used on the underside.

Most aftermarket roof will have a cosmetic layer (1x1) then either multiple layers of a heavier 2x2 cloth or 1x1, 2x2 core, 2x2. This way is far cheaper in terms of materials, labor, and minimizing mistakes..

Here’s a really good picture. After seeing this I’m definitely doing my roof in spread tow! The seam in the middle kind of ruins the cosmetics but the rest looks fantastic! Just waiting for the damned metal roof to come in.
