Pics of 245 and 275 tires on stock OEM 18s

Anyone have pics of 245/40/18 and 275/35/18 tires (pref michelins) on stock 18s with stock suspension ?

Stock suspension is a stretch, unless it's a concourse car. Which would have stock tire sizes on it.

275's are too large for the rears btw. It would be bubbly.

You like 245s on stock 19” up front? Deciding between 235/265 or 245/265. Stock Style 67s. Consider mine a non-obsessive, higher mileage, concourse car that’s rolling slowly toward competition readiness… 😂🤣😅

      Sorry to threadjack… not intended.

That's too wide for stock wheel sizes. So often people think just add a wider tire and it's "better." Honestly 225/255 is perfect and they picked those sizes for a reason. 235/265 would also be okay if you have 8.5/9.5, that's the stock CSL split, but factory 18s are half an inch narrower and the sidewall is shorter on those sizes, so you'll have a trade off in ride quality and looks for negligible gains from the wider tread width.

I think that’s the stock 19” Style 67 split as well, hence my question. Or is it 8/9.5? People have confirmed 235/265 works, I was just trying to see if pushing the envelope helped.

I have found that stock tire sizes are consistent with OEM understeer preferences (“most retail buyers aren’t ready or paying enough attention for responsive steering” or so they think), so one size wider generally is helpful (sort of like square fitments). AMG does the same thing, and one size wider is materially better. I’m just trying to figure out what is that happy medium on this car, as is the OP (I would think).

It looks like 235/265 is it, in both 18” and 19”, pictures notwithstanding.

Both 19" options (besides true CSLs) are 8" x 9.5". Offsets are similar too. Only 18"s have 9" rears.

A bit surprised at the constant misinformation on this forum.

Both tirerack and manufacturer specs show that a 245 on a front 8 inch wide wheel and a 275 on a 9 inch wide is perfectly in spec.

Back to my original question - does anyone have pictures of a 245 and 275 on OEM 18s with stock suspension ?

I'm pretty sure it'll work. I have 235 and 265 on 18s while on the Bilstien B6 set up which lowers the front .5" and the rear .9". There's room for sure. If they don't rub on 19s, why would they rub on smaller rims using smaller tires? Do it and take a picture. My size choice was solely based on availability, not fitment issues.

I have a square 255 setup, no issues.

If a skinny 5'9" guy puts on a XXL shirt, does it fit?

How is this request so difficult to assist with ?

Just looking for pictures.. not to be called a clown or compare tires to tee shirts and have everyones opinion on them not fitting even though the manufacturer has engineered them to be within spec of the OEM 18 inch wheels.

🤣😂😅… I was looking forward to seeing the “bubbly” pictures …

OP, I think what the guys here are saying is, when the rim size is at the smallest end of the tirerack range, that’s not really a fit. The tires look “bubbly” like balloons. Think muffin top jeans on a fat girl. Conversely, when the rim size is at the large end, the tires fit “stretched”. Both extremes are to be avoided. You generally want to stay as close to tirerack’s measured rim width as possible. One size wider only “might” work. YMMV.

But, if you don’t like this advice, “do it and take a picture” as the wise man said.

I don't have stock wheels, but there's no problem with those sizes at all.
The PO of my car had those sizes on 8.5 and 9.5 Apex Ec-7 copies.
                            looks fine.
                            Rears don't look too wide.
I added 12mm spacers all around on stock springs with no interference issues.

                            If that helps any.

I was going to post that they were too big, then I looked it up and you're right, they are okay for use on 8" and 9" rims respectively.

No pic of it but I imagine they will look a little meaty. I run 245 in front on 8.5" wheels and the tire pretty much goes up vertically (no stretch)
