Who currently codes the DME’s to CSL?

I had Kassel do mine and had it back in under a week. Added the H-bridge and set up for CSL airbox w/ MAP sensor.

It's not likely to brick the DME. Even then, there's a way to unbrick it which at that point you've not really spent more money. I recently had to do a cluster, which is the gateway of the car. With Terra's modified CSL tune, I flashed my old file onto it, coded my instrument cluster, and coded the DME back to Terra's CSL. If something goes wrong with a module, you have less hassle.

If the dme bricks with the hacked bootloader flash and it eventually may from future flashes, etc, then you HAVE to BDM flash the dme if you want any chance of recovering it. At that point you're already sending it to Kassel or someone with a bdm block because this requires additional hardware and skill. Just because something is available on the web that can be used to accomplish a task doesn't mean you should just do it without understanding the risks involved. 95% of people do not know the difference between the two types of flashes.

I have had a bdm flash brick on CSL bootloader FYI. Extremely rare but it happens.

That's the ported CSL firmware for the stock M3 2300 bootloader. To get the genuine CSL firmware with bootloader 2500 it can only be done via a bench flash over BDM.
